At Set Japan Corporation’s R&D department, we are currently working on a project focused on procedural generation of 3D models and materials. Although we have some experience in this field, we lacked the resources needed to meet the project’s demands. We attempted outsourcing to other companies, but finding one with the required skills proved challenging.
As a result, we decided to take a new approach. We chose to train one of our game programmers and hire a new 3D artist. After just a few weeks of training, it became clear that the game programmer had a strong aptitude for procedural generation.
This experience reaffirmed the importance of developing skills in-house. We are excited to move forward with this new team and lead the project to success.
